The Caiazzo LOA is laminated and didn’t photograph well, but it is
entirely legible.

John and Yoko were staying at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago in May 1972 to appear on a taping of the Irv Kupcinet Show.  He was wearing an NBC pass and gave it to us (see below).  My friend and I knew they were at the Hilton and met them as they left the hotel the morning after the show.

In 1971, there just weren't crowds pawing at the couple, just here and there a raised fist or, 'Yo, John!'  He'd tip his hat or raise a fist in return.

They were waiting for a limousine to go to lunch with his friend, Dick Gregory (who can be seen far right in the photo, standing next to Yoko).  On the curb, there were mostly business types along with a cab driver.   A bus driver also approached for an autograph.   At one point, the ballpoint pen that had been provided stopped working, so John put it in his mouth (as shown in the photo) and took out a brown felt-tip pen from his coat.  He finished signing with that.   Frank Caiazzo commented that this was one of the finest, slowly executed, Lennon signatures he'd seen in a while.  Being friends at the time, Caiazzo happily dropped his LOA on this.

The photo and signature are secured in a cherry-wood frame, covered with museum-quality anti-UV glass, and hermetically sealed with heavy paper to protect it from environmental damage.  The piece has been well out of direct sunlight.  In May of 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were guests at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago for an appearance on the Irv Kupcinet Show.  My friend and I, aware of their presence at the hotel, serendipitously encountered them as they exited the building the morning following the taping.

They were awaiting a limousine to join their friend, Dick Gregory, for lunch.  Nearby, a mix of business people, a cab driver, and a bus driver.  They approached for autographs.  At one point, the ballpoint pen provided for signing failed.  In a humorous and memorable moment, John put the pen in his mouth before pulling out a brown felt-tip pen from his coat pocket to continue signing.  Collectible expert Frank Caiazzo remarked that this was one of the finest, deliberately crafted Lennon signatures he had witnessed in some time. As a friend, he cheerfully provided his Letter of Authenticity for the piece.

The signed photo is prominently displayed in a cherry wood frame, protected by museum-quality anti-UV glass and hermetically sealed with heavy paper to ensure environmental safety.   It has been meticulously preserved, well away from direct sunlight.

This is a clip of John on the Irv Kupcinet show, the REason he and Yoko were in Chicago.  Irv Kupcinet can be seen as the end of interviewing John.

John's autograph is elegantly showcased alongside a one-of-a-kind photo I captured of him. This image has never been printed, displayed, or copyrighted, making it a truly exclusive representation of Lennon. This singular photograph is unmatched, as no one else has access to this unique moment.

This piece comes with a Letter of Authenticity (L.O.A.) from Frank Caiazzo, which certifies its authenticity and ensures that it was signed in my presence during an in-person signing. The Caiazzo L.O.A. also reinforces its resale value.
