Ready Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.

This GoodFellas glossy was made available to me with a theatrical-size poster signed by Ray Liotta, alone. I opted for the 8X10 signed by the cast with a primary draw (in my opinion). I'm told this piece was signed by all three at the Venice International Film Festival on September 9, 1990, where Scorsese was awarded with the Silver Lion for Best Director. Interestingly, GoodFellas didn't fare well at the box office with $47 million in sales on a $25 million budget. When purchased I hadn't seen the film and had heard it wasn't initially a success. It's become a remarkable cult classic. The value of an autograph collection in the film genre is the success of the title in sales and the celebrity names starring.

 

This piece was never framed or displayed. It's been in storage since 1998. There are a stunning number of forgeries advertised on the web. I was shocked to find a terrible forgery at a well-known auction house whose authenticators typically make excellent calls.
